From cumulative activity to ecological risk: advancing cumulative effects assessment for marine spatial planning

Virginia Morejón is a PhD researcher at University College Dublin and a Marine Institute Cullen Scholar. Her research focuses on improving cumulative effects assessment within Strategic Environmental Assessment and marine spatial planning, with particular emphasis on spatially explicit and ecosystem-based approaches. Her work has explored four-dimensional patterns of marine activity across space, season and depth, and how these can be linked to ecological pathways and potential cumulative risk. She is also an EMB Ambassador Alumna.
